On the 1st of February 2024, in the University of Liège, Kevin Meyvaert, Ph.D. from VUB (Free University of Brussels) presented “Brussels: a high-risk political patient?”

The presentation addressed the rationale behind the choice of specific individuals for a series of focus groups that were held earlier last year.

Departing from the notions of, socio-spatial polarization, public policy sensitivity, and low political participation among younger generations, the VUB team described the methodological process that led to the selection of urban youth individuals from Brussels’ vulnerable neighborhoods, along with all the challenges that such an approach entailed.
