Democracy Disconnected: From the Diagnosis to Therapy

On May 10, 2023, Luca Verzichelli (University of Siena) presented the REDIRECT project at the conference “Democrazia disconnessa: dalla diagnosi alla terapia” (“Democracy Disconnected: From the Diagnosis to Therapy”), held at the University of Pavia.

The event offered an early opportunity to introduce REDIRECT to both academic and public audiences, outlining the project’s main objectives and anticipated outcomes. In his presentation, Verzichelli explored the conceptual foundations of the project, focusing in particular on the notion of representative disconnect and its significance for understanding contemporary democratic challenges across Europe.
