This first version of the Codebook of the REDIRECT Survey Dataset presents the full scope of topics and dimensions covered in the 2025 cross-country study conducted in Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Norway, and the United Kingdom. While the citizen survey data is still under embargo and the elite survey remains ongoing, the Codebook offers an in-depth overview of this innovative research design. By integrating both citizen and elite components – and featuring pioneering survey experiments – the REDIRECT Survey provides an original comparative dataset that enables rare, dual-level insights into political representation, democratic attitudes, and potential democratic backsliding across Europe
