REDIRECT at the Festival del Presente 2026
On 9 October 2026, Luca Verzichelli, Principal Investigator of REDIRECT at the University of Siena, participated in “Democrazia addio” at the Oratorio di San Filippo Neri in Bologna. The event formed part of the Festival del Presente, organised by Pandora Rivista.
Taking Lorenzo De Sio’s book Democrazia addio (Laterza) as its starting point, the discussion explored the crisis of contemporary democracy and the capacity of political institutions to respond to citizens’ demands and needs.
These questions are central to REDIRECT’s research on representative disconnect, democratic responsiveness and the changing relationships between citizens and political elites.
