The ELTE Centre for Social Sciences (CSS) is an interdisciplinary research institution bringing together around 200 Hungarian and international scholars working in sociology, political science, law, minority studies and related fields. Founded by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and now affiliated with Eötvös Loránd University while remaining an independent legal body, the Centre conducts national and international research projects—many within EU programmes such as Horizon Europe—publishes academic journals, contributes to policy expertise, and supports high-level social science research with strong international collaboration.
