On June 14, 2023, Zsófia Papp (Centre for Social Sciences – HUN-REN) led a PhD workshop at Corvinus University of Budapest, Hungary, focused on the use of survey experiments in the analysis of satisfaction with democracy.
The event formed part of REDIRECT’s broader training and dissemination efforts, connecting directly to Work Packages 2, 4, and 5. It provided early-stage researchers with the opportunity to explore the methodological advantages and challenges of experimental designs in democratic research—especially in relation to how citizens evaluate institutions, representation, and legitimacy.
Papp’s session also addressed preliminary findings from Deliverable 2.3 and discussed key tasks involved in survey design and implementation across diverse democratic contexts. The workshop offered a practical space to reflect on how experimental methods can reveal subtle influences shaping public perceptions and attitudes toward democracy.
