The University is a member of the Russell Group, and in the top 150 universities globally (THES rankings).The Exeter REDIRECT research group is based within the interdisciplinary Department of Social and Political Sciences, Philosophy and Anthropology, and comprises members of the Centre for Political Thought (CPT) and of the Public Policy and Governance Group (PPGG). The Centre encompasses one of the largest clusters of political theorists in the UK. Its distinctive character is the diversity of areas and approaches covered by its research. The Centre promotes collaborative research and is part of an increasing number of international networks. Members of the PPGG have expertise across a wide range of public policy theories, issues and methodologies, and publish in high impact generalist and specialist journals. Members of the Exeter team have played leading roles in many international and national research projects on political, socio-legal, and policy-making issues. The Department hosts BA and MA programmes across all of its disciplines, and has a large and thriving cohort of postgraduate research students.
