REDIRECT will take part in Bright-Night 2026 in Siena with a participatory World Café dedicated to democracy, citizenship and political participation.
The event, entitled A Post to Participate**, will bring together citizens in an informal and interactive setting designed to encourage dialogue, exchange and collective reflection. Participants will have the opportunity to share their perspectives, discuss different views and identify common ideas about what democratic participation means today.**
Using the World Café format, combined with elements of design thinking and content creation, the activity will encourage participants to move from discussion to the development of concrete messages and ideas. The aim is to create an accessible space in which different experiences and perspectives can contribute to a broader conversation about democracy and participation.
The initiative reflects REDIRECT’s broader research on democratic representation, citizens’ expectations and the relationship between citizens and political institutions. By creating opportunities for direct dialogue outside traditional academic settings, the event will also contribute to connecting research with the wider public and encouraging citizens to reflect on their own role within democratic processes.
Bright-Night provides an opportunity to bring REDIRECT’s research into the heart of the city and engage directly with citizens through an open, creative and participatory format. Everyone is welcome to join the conversation and contribute their ideas.
