The REDIRECT project took part in the ECPR General Conference in Kraków, bringing its research on democracy, political representation, citizens and political elites into one of the main international forums for political science in Europe.
Across the conference, REDIRECT researchers contributed to discussions on some of the central questions addressed by the project, including the changing relationship between citizens and representatives, the role of political elites and parties, and contemporary challenges to democratic representation.
Participation in the ECPR General Conference provided an important opportunity to present ongoing research, exchange ideas with scholars from across Europe and beyond, and receive valuable feedback on the project’s theoretical and empirical work.
The conference also offered a space to strengthen connections within the wider political science community and to bring REDIRECT’s comparative research into broader debates about the evolution of representative democracy in Europe.
Many thanks to everyone who joined the discussions and contributed with comments, questions and new perspectives. It was great to see the REDIRECT community actively contributing to the debate at ECPR.
