REDIRECT research was presented at a workshop on democracy and institutional design hosted at the University of Warwick in Warwick, United Kingdom. The event brought together scholars working on democratic theory, institutional reform and the functioning of contemporary political systems.
The workshop explored how democratic institutions can be designed or reformed to address emerging political challenges, including declining trust in representative institutions, evolving expectations toward political actors and changing forms of political participation. Discussions focused on how institutional arrangements can shape accountability, responsiveness and the quality of representative relationships in modern democracies.
By bringing together researchers working on democratic theory and institutional design, the event contributed to REDIRECT’s broader research agenda on the transformation of democratic representation and the institutional conditions that support resilient representative systems.
